Hi everyone! We are a group of 14 educators preparing to go on the road in a travelling seminar in Poland, supported by the US Department of Education's Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad program. We travel from the mountains to the sea!
Participants are four faculty from Wittenberg University (representing Political Science, Psychology, International Business and Sociology/Anthropology departments), four Wittenberg History and Education undergraduate students, and six Ohio high school teachers who teach History, Government and Psychology courses. The high school teachers come from Mount Notre Dame High School in Cincinnati, from the Oakwood and Trotwood public school districts in the Dayton area and from the Akron Public Schools.
The trip directors are Dr. Heather Wright, a political theorist in Wittenberg's Political Science department, and Dr. Michael Anes, a cognitive psychologist in Wittenberg's Psychology department.
Dr. Wright and Dr. Anes were US Fulbright Scholars in Poland for the 2010-11 academic year and traveled with students on 2013 and 2018 Wittenberg in Poland trips.
If you are not familiar with our trip, please check out our concept coverage map and full itinerary at the following link: https://www.wittenberg.edu/sites/default/files/media/international/OverseasProjectItinerary-FHGPA-Rev.pdf In an extensive set of pre-departure study sessions which began in early December 2023 we've read about and discussed Polish history and culture, and that knowledge will now guide us in our 30 days on the road.
We are looking forward to meeting you in Lodz! :-) Aleksandra
